Actually, its not missing, its just disabled. Usually, if Excel crashes for some reason (like a long retrieve or run out of memory), Excel will blame SmartView and disable the add-in. Have no fear, you can enable SmartView very easily.
In Excel 2010 (works similarly for other version of Excel), follow these steps:
Go to "File", then "Options"
Within options, choose "Add-Ins" on the left hand side
On the bottom you will see a drop down box next to "Manage", choose "Disabled Items", then click "Go"
A dialogue box will appear, click on SmartView, then click the "Enable" button.
You may need to restart Excel for the changes to take place
